Fortunately, for locals and visitors alike, Teton County has many miles of multi-use paved pathways. Walkers, bikers, skaters, rollerbladers, ski-bladers, horseback riders, parents with strollers all share this fabulous alternative route to get to where they are going. Name Your Game

Here is a sampling of what you can get out and do during your summer stay in Jackson Hole

·        Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are here for the exploring! For more rmation go to: www.nps.gov

·       

·        Biking: Rent equipment and get trail tips at Hoback Sports (307.733.5335)

o       Mountain biking – there are trails galore! A favorite among locals is Cache-to-Game (That’s Cache Creek to Game Creek)

o       Road biking – feeling fit? Try climbing Teton Pass on the newly-paved Millennium Trail

·        Climbing:

o       If you and your kids already know how to climb and it happens to be raining, visit Teton Rock Gym (307.733.0707). And, a new climbing gym is coming in Spring of 2007

o       If you’re up for a more technical challenge (e.g., The Grand), contact Exum Mountain Guides (307.733.2297) or Jackson Hole Mountain Guides (307.733.4979)

·        Golf: Teton Pines and Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis are in our area; The Links is a 40 minute drive

·        Fly Fishing: WorldCast Anglers (1.800.654.0676 or 307.733.6934) is among the top notch angling outfits here. Also, Jack Dennis (307.733.3270) and Reel Women Fly Fishing Adventures (208.787.2657). Consult Yellow Pages for other options.

·        Gyms/Fitness Centers:  Bell Fitness (307.7345878) is located next to the nearest grocery store. Other options include, Jackson Hole Athletic Club (307.734.7737) and Teton Sports Club (307.733.7004)

·        Personal Trainers – Ask at the gyms, or call One-to-One Wellness (307.734.2808)

·        Hiking

o       in town local favorites: Snow King Mountain, Game Creek, Cache Creek and High School Butte

o      

o       Grand Teton National Park – there are numerous possibilities! Among the popular ones: Jenny Lake loop, Bradley-Taggart Lake, String Lake

o       Pick up a hiking guide book at the local bookstore

·        Horseback riding/Llama treks:  there are dozens of outfits from which to choose! Please consult the Yellow Pages

·        Kayaking: Snake River Kayak and Canoe (307.733.9999 or 734.9795), and Jackson Hole Kayak School (307.733.2471) will set you up with rentals and lessons

o       Sea kayak on Jackson Lake, Jenny Lake, String Lake,or Yellowstone Lake

o       White water kayak on the Snake River

·        Teton County Library boasts a great children’s area with toddler storytime two times a week and very good general adult services (periodicals, Internet, etc.)

·        Pilates/Yoga:  The Pilates Place (307.732.2292) is located next to the nearest grocery store. Yes! You can bike there on the pathway. Check Yellow Pages for local Yoga studios

·        Swimming pools:

o       Indoor, in town at the Teton County Recreation Center; do laps or relax in the Jacuzzi while the kids play in the Olympic size pool, zoom down the big slide or paddle around in the the toddler pool; lifeguards on duty

o       Outdoor, day use at Jackson Lake Lodge; about $5 adults, $2 children; full snack bar or BYOFood, picnic area; big pool and kiddie pool; play area with jungle gym; lifeguards on duty

·        Skateboarding: Colosseum Skate Park is located nearby at 3590 South Park Drive and their number is 307.734.7267. Boardroom of Jackson Hole is the local board shop (307.733.8327)

·        Snake River white water and scenic float trips are offered by several outfits – Jackson Whitewater, Barker-Ewing, and Charlie Sands to name a few. Try a Google search to find the one that floats your boat!
